Mahindra Thar, Scorpio-N, XUV700 Prices Hiked in India

Mahindra has implemented a price hike on its flagship SUVs, including the Scorpio-N, Thar, Scorpio Classic, and XUV700, from this week onwards. The automaker has increased the prices of certain variants of these three sports utility vehicles. The move comes after the manufacturer announced that its vehicles will now be more expensive starting in January due to growing production costs.

Mahindra has increased the costs of the Thar, Scorpio-N, and XUV700 by up to INR 57,000. As per the website of the company, the biggest price surge has been implemented on the XUV700 SUV. The AX7 L petrol model has witnessed a price hike of INR 57,000. It comes with a seven-seat configuration and a manual gearbox. The diesel variant of the AX7 L has become costlier by INR 53,000; it is available in both manual and AT transmission options.

Almost eight variants of the XUV700 SUV have also witnessed price reductions recently. The four entry-level variants in petrol are now available with a price reduction of up to INR 15,000. The biggest price drop has been seen on the AX5 diesel variant. It now comes with a price drop of INR 21,000. This variant is available with 5-seat and automatic gearbox options.

The XUV700 is now available at a starting price of INR 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and for the top-end variant, it goes up to INR 26.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The costs of the seven variants remain the same.

The automaker has increased the costs of all Thar SUV variants. The biggest price surge has been implemented on the AX (O) diesel manual variant, which is now available with an increase of INR 35,000. The top-end LX petrol variant gets a price surge of INR 34,000 and more, and it is available with an automatic gearbox. The Mahindra Thar SUV is now priced at INR 11.25 lakh (ex-showroom), and the price goes up to INR 17.20 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Scorpio Classic and Scorpio-N models have also witnessed a price surge of INR 40,000. All variants of these two SUVs have not become more expensive. Mahindra has not increased the price of the Z8 7-seater variant; it is still priced at INR 23.08 lakh (ex-showroom). The Z8 7-seater comes with automatic transmission and AWD. The biggest hike has been implemented on the Z8 L 6-seater that comes with manual transmission in both diesel and petrol versions. The entry-level petrol variant of the Scorpio-N has now become dearer by INR 34,000, whereas the entry-level diesel variant gets a price hike of INR 24,000.

The Scorpio-N is now available at a starting price of INR 13.60 lakh (ex-showroom), and the top-end variant is priced at INR 24.54 lakh (ex-showroom).
