The name Suzuki is quite prominent throughout the automobile world. The Japanese manufacturer is active in both two-wheeler and four-wheeler segment. Talking about Suzuki Motor Corporation, the company is headquartered in Japan. The parent company holds a major stake in its Indian subsidiary – Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd (SMIL).

Suzuki entered the Indian two-wheeler market on the back of a collaboration with TVS. However, once their joint venture ended in 2001, Suzuki relaunched itself as Suzuki Motorcycle Private Limited and entered the market once again. Back then Suzuki was the technology provider to TVS, whereas now Suzuki is one of the market leaders in two-wheeler segment. The Japanese manufacturer a complete range portfolio in which scooters have an inevitable presence. As for the current market, Suzuki has two scooters – Suzuki Let’s and Suzuki Access 125.

Suzuki Let’s was the first Suzuki scooter in the 110cc segment. The model was launched in the year 2014 priced at INR 50,000. Let’s is specially designed for women rider. The design and philosophy of the model reflect the thought. The scooter model has a fibre body panel to keep the weight light, and the scooter offers a mileage of over 60 kmpl. It competes with other models such as TVS Scooty Zest, Honda Activa I, Hero Duet and Yamaha Ray Z.

Recently, Suzuki India launched a Special Edition variant of Access 125 to celebrate its success in the Indian market. The flagship scooter got a retro styling, and it walked on the ramp with models dressed in trendy outfits walking around the scooter. Access has been hugely popular in the Indian market and has contributed significantly to the Indian scooter business. It is Activa’s toughest competitor in the scooter segment.
