The 1,500th GS800 (General Service 800) Safari Storme 4x4, made specifically for the Indian Army, has rolled out of the Tata factory. The flag off was done by Dr. Subhash Bhamre, MoS, Defence, Government of India along with Vernon Noronha, Vice President, Defence & Government Business at the Pune facility.

The modified version can carry 60 percent higher payload, offers over 70 percent more power and 200 percent more torque than the standard Safari Storme. It even underwent rigorous trials in various off-road and on-road terrains in the harshest conditions for over 15 months.

It gets ABS, recovery hooks, a jerry can and fog lamps to suit army requirement during missions. Inside, it comes with basics like bucket seats, a mobile charging point, air conditioning, heating, a defogger and power windows to keep the vehicle low-maintenance.
