Triumph has launched the new, more off-road-focused version of its existing Triumph Scrambler 400 X model. This bike is designed to handle challenging off-road terrains.

The British motorcycle-maker has just launched the much-anticipated Triumph Scrambler 400 XC in India. This modern classic scrambler motorcycle is designed for practical usability across both road and light to moderate trail conditions.

This bike is more off-road focused compared to the 400 X and also costs more, at Rs. 2.94 lacs (ex-showroom). This scrambler competes with Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Adventure X, Royal Enfield Scram 411, Yezdi Scrambler, Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, BMW G 310 GS, and Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler (Upcoming).

Triumph Scrambler 400 XC features

The XC variant is designed with a more serious intent for tackling challenging trails than the Scrambler 400 X. It has longer travel suspension, a larger front wheel, and revised ergonomics for better handling and control on unpaved surfaces. Here are the key features for an overview:

  • Larger 19-inch front wheel
  • Aluminium sump guard
  • Engine crash guards
  • More ground clearance of 195 mm
  • Further suspension travel of 150 mm
  • High-mounted front fender

Triumph Scrambler 400 XC colors and design

The new off-road capable bike is expected to be available in 3 distinct color options of Racing Yellow, Storm Grey, and Vanilla White. It has a classic Scrambler silhouette and has a more upright and commanding riding posture.

The owner can further tailor the bike's look and functionality to their individual preferences with over 20 accessories.

Triumph Scrambler 400 XC engine and specs

This bike is powered by the same 398cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder TR-Series, DOHC, 4-valve engine as that of the Scrambler X. It produces a peak power of 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 37.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Its other core specs are:

  • 6-speed gearbox with an assist & slipper clutch
  • 835 mm of seat height
  • Fuel tank capacity of 13 liters
  • Wet weight of 185 kg
