Hero has stopped production and is not selling any new Hero Mavrick 440 in India. This decision comes after the brand reported very low sales.

This base model of Mavrick 440 starts from Rs. 1.99 lacs (ex-showroom). People who want to buy a similar roadster motorcycle can look at the alternatives (mentioned below).

Why Was Hero Mavrick 440 Discontinued in India?

The primary reason for discontinuing the Hero Mavrick 440 was its consistently poor sales performance. Dealerships had stopped taking new bookings, and Hero had ceased production and dispatches of the motorcycle for several months.

Harley-Davidson X440, which shares the same platform as Mavrick, was performing reasonably well after Mavrick's early 2024 launch. The Mavrick's sales numbers began to dwindle by early 2025 and hit near-zero in recent months.

The partnership with Harley-Davidson seems to be a more successful avenue for Hero in the premium motorcycle segment, and we think the company is focusing its efforts there.

Hero Mavrick 440 Key Features

The Hero Mavrick 440 is a neo-retro roadster motorcycle. It blends modern technology and performance with a classic and muscular design aesthetic.

This hero bike has 17-inch wheels on both ends that provide quicker handling and better agility. It also has low kerb weight (187 kg) for its engine class.

It has a 440cc, single-cylinder, air-oil cooled, 2-valve, SOHC engine, named "TorqX." The bike has a 6-speed manual gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch.

This engine was specifically designed to be a "long-stroke" motor, which is why it generates immense torque at very low RPMs. This makes the bike very easy to ride in city traffic and provides an effortless cruising experience on the highway.

How Can Someone Buy a Hero Mavrick 440 Now? (And Its Alternatives)

Second-hand purchase is the most likely way to own a Hero Mavrick 440. Any pre-owned bike will be relatively new and have low mileage, as the bike was launched in early 2024. This is a small possibility, but a dealership may have one or two units of the Mavrick 440 left in unsold stock.

People can also consider alternatives for this bike, like Harley-Davidson X440, Royal Enfield Classic 350 / Hunter 350 / Bullet 350, Honda H'ness CB350 / CB350RS, Triumph Speed 400, Jawa 350 / Jawa 42, and Bajaj Dominar 400.
