Mahindra is expected to introduce a new entry-level petrol automatic variant of its famous XUV700 SUV. As per the Type Approval Certificate issued by ARAI, the SUV could get a new petrol variant: the XUV700 MX Petrol Automatic. The new variant is expected to be unveiled on the market in the coming weeks. The SUV is currently available in five variants, namely, AX3, MX, AX5, AX7L, and AX7. As of now, the XUV700 MX is only available with six-speed manual transmission in both diesel and petrol engine options, whereas the AT transmission is only available in the AX3 variant. The new petrol AT variant is likely to be unveiled at an affordable cost.

The XUV700 MX petrol automatic is anticipated to be priced under INR 16 lakh (ex-showroom). The MX petrol MT version comes at a price of INR 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the AX3 petrol AT starts at a price of INR 18.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The upcoming MX AT trim will aid in reducing the base cost of the XUV700 AT considerably.

The Mahindra XUV700 MX comes loaded with features like a 7-inch digital instrument console, a four-speaker sound system, ISOFIX anchor mounts for child seats, follow-me-home headlamps, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (wired), and electrically adjustable ORVMs. The MX trim stands on 17-inch steel wheels, while the higher variant of the SUV rides on alloy wheels.

Buyers who are looking to buy the XUV700 SUV under the budget of INR 20 lakh (on-road) will certainly be delighted with the new automatic addition. After its official launch in the market, the new XUV700 MT petrol AT will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, and Skoda Kushaq.
