The BMW Group announced that current India head, Vikram Pawah is now CEO of BMW Group Australia. Pawah will continue to support Indian operations as its new chairman. Pawah has been heading the group’s operations in India since January 2017, and he will now take over the Australian and New Zealand businesses from August 1.

Hans-Christian Baertels, director of finance and administration at BMW Group India, will take over as the new president.

Hildegard Wortmann, senior vice-president, Asia Pacific, BMW Group, said, “Pawah brings excellent preconditions to lead BMW Group operations in India and Australia. Under his leadership, BMW Group India has successfully stood ground in a fiercely competitive environment and gained significant momentum in the Indian luxury car market”.
