Honda first unveiled the NX500 adventure tourer at EICMA 2023. Several motorcycle enthusiasts have been waiting for its official launch in the Indian market since its debut in 2023. It seems like Honda is planning to launch the NX500 in the domestic market sooner than expected, as unofficial bookings for the new adventure tourer have started in India.
According to reports, some BigWing dealers may have begun accepting pre-bookings of the motorcycle already. Bookings are now open for a token amount of INR 10,000, while deliveries are expected to begin in February-March 2024. It is anticipated that the bike will soon launch in India and join the Africa Twin and the Transalp 750 in the company’s ADV Tourer lineup in the country. The all-new Honda NX500 will replace the CB500X in the lineup, which has been discontinued.
Honda NX500 Specifications
The NX500 motorcycle comes equipped with a 5-inch TFT display that gets a speedometer, customizable layout, clock, and gear shift indicator. It has LED lighting, an emergency stop signal, and Honda RoadSync functionality.
The Honda NX500 is powered by the same 471 cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that was also equipped in the CB500X motorcycle. The engine churns out 46.5 bhp of maximum power at 8,600 rpm and a peak torque of 43 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The motorcycle comes with a six-speed gearbox unit with a slip-and-assist clutch. The two-wheeler maker has also updated the ECU for improved acceleration.

The company is utilizing a steel diamond frame for the bike. Suspension duties on the bike are done by up-side-down forks in the front and a monoshock at the back. The NX500 has twin discs in the front and one at the rear. It comes with dual-channel ABS. The fuel tank in the bike has a capacity of 17.5 liters, while the seat height is 830 mm.
Before it was discontinued from the market, the CB500X was priced at INR 5.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The automaker is expected to offer the new Honda NX500 for the same price. The brand will offer the bike in two color options: red and black. It will rival the likes of the KTM 390 Adventure and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.
