We are back with our weekly dose of Auto shots for you! This week we saw a plethora of products being launched in the Indian market. Right from Mahindra XUV300 Petrol AMT, 2021 Porsche Panamera to 2021 Maserati Ghibli, there were many other launches as well. Tata Motors started accepting bookings for the iconic Safari while also introducing 'Founders Edition' of its entire range of passenger vehicles. TVS introduced the Intelligo technology with the Jupiter scooter. The FM announced Vehicle Scrappage Policy in her speech during the Union Budget 2021. Last but not the least, Honda 2-Wheelers India announced the launch of CB350 Cafe Racer on Feb 16, 2021.


Tata Motors Launches Founders Edition Models

Tata Motors launched the Founders Edition models to celebrate the brand’s 75 years in existence in the Indian automotive market. The Founders Edition is available on the brand’s domestic passenger car portfolio that comprises Tiago, Tigor, Nexon, Altroz, and the Harrier. Furthermore, these Special Edition models are exclusively for Tata Group employees. The models feature the bespoke JRD Tata Signage and a special Tata emblem with a blue background. Read more


TVS Jupiter ZX Disc intelliGO Launched at Rs 72,347

TVS Motor Company introduced the new 'intelliGO' technology platform with the Jupiter scooter in the Indian market. Being the first 110cc scooter in the country to boast of this intelligent Stop & Go technology, it is available in two colors namely Starlight Blue and Royal Wine. TVS Jupiter ZX Disc intelliGO is priced at Rs 72,347 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The scooter doesn't get any cosmetic and mechanical updates besides the addition of TVS intelliGO. It takes on the likes of Honda Activa and Hero Maestro in India. Read more


Mahindra XUV300 Petrol AMT Launched at Rs 9.95 Lakhs

Mahindra & Mahindra launched the XUV300 petrol automatic at a starting price of Rs 9.95 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Mumbai) in the Indian market. The AutoSHIFT (AMT) gearbox is offered with the W6 and W8 (O) variants. The bookings for the petrol AMT models are open and deliveries will begin from mid-February onwards. Furthermore, the range-topping automatic petrol W8 (O) variant gets an all-new BlueSense Plus connected SUV technology. There are no cosmetic updates in the automatic version as compared to the manual counterpart. Read more


2021 Porsche Panamera Launched at Rs 1.45 Crores

Porsche India launched the 2021 Panamera saloon in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 1.45 Crores (ex-showroom, India). The 2021 Porsche Panamera is sold in four variants namely Standard, GTS, Turbo S, and Turbo S E-hybrid. The latter two are the new entrants to the Panamera line-up in the country. The top-end Turbo S E-hybrid variant sets the Indian buyers back by Rs 2.43 Crores (ex-showroom, India). The biggest change is the swapping of the Turbo variant in the Panamera line-up with a new Turbo S variant. Read more


All-New Honda CB350 Cafe Racer to Launch on February 16, 2021

Honda 2-Wheelers India released a teaser image last week with the title “Powered By Legacy Here To Create Stories”. This teaser gave us a hint that the Japanese brand will be launching a new motorcycle on 16 February 2021. The new bike is expected to be a cafe racer based on the Honda CB350. Performance-wise, this new bike might use a new locally developed 350cc engine while sold through Honda’s Big Wing network of dealerships. We can expect the bike to fall in the price bracket of Rs 1.86 lakhs - Rs 1.92 lakhs (ex-showroom). Read more


Union Budget 2021: Vehicle Scrappage Policy Announced

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a slew of measures to boost the Indian manufacturing sector during her budget speech. The automobile industry in particular received a welcome relief in the form of a new vehicle scrappage policy. In the Union Budget 2021, Nirmala Sitharaman announced the Vehicle Scrappage Policy to phase out old and unfit vehicles. Under the policy, personal vehicles will undergo a fitness test in automated fitness centres after 20 years of use. On the other hand, commercial vehicles will undergo the automated fitness test after 15 years of use. Read more


2021 Tata Safari India Launch on February 22; Bookings Start

Tata Motors announced the launch of Safari SUV on February 22, 2021 in the Indian market. The deliveries of the all-new SUV will start from that day itself in the country. Tata Safari 2021 bookings have already started at a token amount of Rs 30,000 both online and at the company authorized dealerships. The dealer dispatch has begun and test drive vehicles can be spotted at the dealerships. To be offered in four trims namely XE, XM, XT and XZ, Tata Safari will be at loggerheads with the likes of MG Hector and Mahindra XUV500 in the Indian market. Read more


2021 Maserati Ghibli Launched in India at Rs 1.15 Crores

Maserati India launched the 2021 Ghibli at a starting price of Rs 1.15 Crores (ex-showroom), India. It has been introduced in four trim levels: Base, GranLusso, GranSport and Trofeo. The new Maserati Ghibli comes with a V8 engine for the first time while the top-of-the-line Trofeo trim was also included in the line-up for the very first time. The company carried out substantial cosmetic updates in the 2021 Ghibli while it is also the first hybrid Maserati Car to ever go on sale in India or anywhere else in the world. Read more
