Xiaomi, the world’s third-largest smartphone maker, has announced that it has manufactured 10,000 units of the tech-heavy SU7 electric sedan. The tech giant launched the SU7 in December 2023, and deliveries of the sedan commenced subsequently. Xiaomi previously announced that it had dispatched 5,781 units of the EV by April 28, 2024.
The CEO and founder of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, recently announced that the company reached the 10,000-unit production milestone for the SU7 in just 32 days. He added that 79 percent of SU7 car owners are currently using 'Xiaomi Pilot,' which is the sedan’s autonomous driving feature. He emphasized that 28 percent of orders came from female customers. The brand anticipates that in the coming time, 40 to 50 percent of SU7’s owners will be women. These consumer demographics offer some indication of the wide appeal of the company’s first electric car.
