Mercedes Benz will be launching the A-Class limousine tomorrow via the digital medium in the Indian market. The premium sedan is all set to replace the CLA in Mercedes Benz India’s product portfolio. It will be locally assembled at the company’s Chakan manufacturing facility in Pune. As for the price, we can expect it to start from Rs 35 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Design-wise, the new A-Class will feature the signature diamond-studded grille upfront. In addition, it will also get wraparound LED headlamps. The rear end will boast of split L-shaped LED tail lights. The sedan further gets a premium appeal due to the sportier alloy wheels.

Moving inside the cabin of the premium sedan, it follows the German automaker’s twin-screen layout, one each for the infotainment system and the instrument cluster. Furthermore, it will get the latest MBUX infotainment system and connected car tech. The AC vents will get the piano black finish. Other feature highlights will include a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats with memory function, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting and wireless phone charging, among many others.

Under the hood, the upcoming A-Class will get three engine options - 1.3-litre petrol, 2.0-litre turbo diesel, and an AMG version. The petrol unit will dish out a maximum power of 161 bhp and a peak torque of 250 Nm while being mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). The diesel motor, on the other hand, generates 148 bhp power and 250 Nm torque. This particular engine can be availed with an 8-speed DCT automatic gearbox. Talking about the AMG trim, it will dish out a maximum power output of 302 bhp and a peak torque of 400 Nm while being linked to a 7-speed DCT.
