Mahindra & Mahindra, the renowned Indian automobile manufacturer, has recently announced that it has secured a significant order to supply 1,850 units of the Scorpio Classic to the Indian Army. This development further solidifies Mahindra's association with the armed forces, as they had previously received an order for 1,470 units of the Scorpio Classic in January of this year. It appears that the Indian Army is now seeking additional reinforcements in the form of this rugged and reliable SUV.
The official tweet from Mahindra stated that the orders have been received for the Scorpio Classic. However, it is interesting to note that the image accompanying the tweet showcases the older version of the Scorpio. The pre-facelift Scorpio displayed in the image boasts a matte camo green paint scheme, similar to the Tata Safari Storme GS800, another vehicle used by the Indian Army. It features the older Mahindra emblem, an older grille, and alloys that were also seen on the previous iteration of the mid-size SUV.
