The Shotgun 650 is based on the Royal Enfield’s 650 platform. Apart from this model, other bikes like the Continental GT, Interceptor, and Super Meteor are also manufactured under the same platform.

The motorcycle launched in the European market is identical to the Indian model. The new bike comes with a flatter and smaller fuel tank, chopped and curved fenders, a wide handlebar along with centre-set footpegs, and a floating rider’s seat. The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 comes in monotone and twin-tone color options. The company sells the 650 motorcycle with a luggage rack and a removable rear seat. It has a low ground clearance of 140 mm.

Powering the motorcycle is a 648 cc, parallel-twin engine that churns out 46.4 bhp of power and 52.3 Nm of peak torque. The unit is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has USD forks at the front, and at the rear, it gets twin shocks. Braking duties are done by disc brakes with twin-channel ABS. The Shotgun 650 will give tough competition to the likes of the Honda Rebel 500, the Kawasaki Eliminator, and the BSA Gold Star 650.
