Aston Martin has unveiled its new flagship model in the DBX range - DBX707. The SUV gets a mechanical upgrade and subtle cosmetic revisions. The production is slated to begin in the first quarter of this year. However, deliveries of the vehicle are scheduled to begin in Q2 2022.

In terms of design, Aston Martin DBX707 features a large front grille with a new double vane mesh pattern. In addition, it gets redesigned light clusters, a new spoiler, air intakes, black trim detailing, and large quad exhausts. The cabin of the DBX707 gets three choices of interior environments namely Accelerate, Inspire – Comfort and Inspire Sport. Having said that, Accelerate is the standard fitment which is basically a mix of leather and Alcantara. Inspire Comfort and Inspire Sport come as an option. The switchgear gets a dark chrome finish. However, one can even opt for bright chrome and carbon fibre finish. The SUV further gets sport seats as a standard fitment. Both the front and the rear seats come with 16-way electric adjustment plus heating.

“Right from its first introduction the DBX has represented Aston Martin’s dynamic and design values in a way that proves not all SUVs have to conform to the same compromises. With the DBX707 we have pushed the boundaries in every area to create a car which sets new standards of performance and desirability. The fastest, most powerful, best handling and most engaging car of its kind, it propels Aston Martin to the pinnacle of SUV performance,” as commented by Tobias Moers, Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer.

Performance-wise, the Aston Martin DBX707 is powered by Mercedes AMG-derived twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine that churns out 706 bhp power and 900 Nm peak torque. The engine is further mated to a 9-speed wet clutch automatic gearbox. Furthermore, the motor comes with ball bearing turbochargers and a bespoke tune.

“With this exceptional new model we have truly unlocked the performance potential within the DBX to create a world beating high-performance SUV. The huge gains we have found in both power and torque demonstrates not only the inherent prowess of the 4.0-litre biturbo V8, but Aston Martin’s appetite and ability for finding uncompromising engineering solutions. The combination of this magnificent engine with a new 9-speed ‘wet-clutch’ transmission sits at the heart of DBX707’s formidable capabilities and unforgettable character,” as commented by Ralph Illenberger, Aston Martin’s Head of Powertrain.
