Aprilia has recently launched the RS 457 motorcycle in the UK at a price of INR 6.79 lakh (£6500). The RS 457 unveiled in the UK market is manufactured and exported from Piaggio Group's facility located in Baramati, Maharashtra. The two-wheeler giant’s parallel-twin sport bike was launched in India during India Bike Week in December 2023. In India, it was rolled out at a price of INR 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

The launch of the RS 457 in the international market is anticipated to increase sales for Aprilia. The motorcycle is positioned within the A2 sports motorcycle segment. The RS 457 is all set to give tough competition to the likes of the Yamaha YZF-R3, the Yamaha R3, the KTM RC390, and the Kawasaki Ninja 400.

The RS 457 takes design cues from its sibling, the RS 660. It comes equipped with a distinctive three-pod LED headlight. Aprilia offers the bike in three color options: Opalescent Light, Racing Stripes, and Prismatic Dark. The colors are based on Aprilla's championship bikes.

Powering the new bike is a new 457cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that churns out 47 bhp at 9,400 rpm and 43.5 Nm of peak torque. The unit is paired with a 6-speed gearbox that comes with a slip-and-assist clutch mechanism. The fully faired motorcycle rolls on 17-inch wheels, complemented by inverted forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are done by single-disc brakes at the front and rear.

The made-in-India Aprilia RS 457 comes with ride-by-wire technology along with traction control settings. It features a standard 5-inch TFT display with a quick shifter and smartphone connectivity. The TFT display allows riders to access three riding modes, ABS, engine maps, and anti-roll system.
