The new BMW M 1000 RR is the first M model in BMW Motorrad’s Indian portfolio

BMW Motorrad India has launched its first M model, M 1000 RR at a starting price of Rs 42 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The price goes as high as Rs 45 Lakhs (ex-showroom) for the Competition variant. Bookings are open from today onwards. Interested buyers can book the motorcycle at all BMW Motorrad India dealerships. It can also be purchased through BMW Financial Services India which offers customized and flexible financial solutions. 




The new M RR is based on the BMW S 1000 RR. Design-wise, it features a slim front-end with a black matte T-shaped air flap and the new M winglets. In addition, the M 1000 RR gets LED headlamps and iconic U-shaped sidelights. The engine cover is granite grey in color, while the fuel filler cap is painted black and the spring strut is blue in color. Furthermore, the bike comes with M brakes, M brake calipers with blue anodized coating, M carbon wheels, and M logo. 

Besides these, the new M 1000 RR gets an M Competition package as an option. It basically gives the motorcycle a racetrack character. Talking about the M Competition package, it includes an M GPS-lap trigger, Pillion Seat Cover, M Billet Pack (M Engine Protectors, M Brake Lever Folding, M Brake Lever Guard, M Clutch Lever Folding, M Rider Footrest System), Passenger Kit, and Carbon Pack (M Carbon Front and Rear Mudguard, M Carbon Upper Fairing Side Panel, M Carbon Tank Cover, M Carbon Chain Guard, M Carbon Sprocket Cover). The features include a 6.5-inch multifunctional TFT instrument panel and BMW ShiftCam technology. The bike is offered in a total of three color options namely Light White, Racing Blue Metallic, and Racing Red. 




Mechanically, the new bike is powered by a 999cc water/oil-cooled, 4-cylinder, in-line engine that churns out 212 bhp power at 14,500 rpm and 113 Nm torque at 11000 rpm. The new M RR can sprint from 0-100kmph in 3.1 seconds. It can further achieve a maximum speed of 306 km/h. The bike comes with four modes ‘Rain’, ‘Road’, ‘Dynamic’ and ‘Race’ as standard. There is a Riding Mode Pro which comes with the bike as an option. In this, there are additional three riding modes (Race Pro 1-3). Also, the Pro Modes will give access to launch control and pitlane limiter.
