Audi has updated its Q5 Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) lineup with the new 2025 variant, with a bigger battery and range, efficiency, and new features.

Audi has launched the latest generation of the 2025 Audi Q5 Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) globally, in Europe. This is a luxury compact/mid-size SUV. It's also available in a Sportback variant, which features a more coupe-like, sloping roofline.

The car is open for booking in Europe from mid-June 2025. There is no confirmation for its India launch, but it is highly likely.

The new Audi car was launched globally, and its order books are opening in Europe from mid-June 2025. Initial customer deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2025 in key European markets, including the UK and Germany.

There is currently no official confirmation of its launch in India. The base 295 bhp Q5 PHEV starts at around €63,400 in Europe.

A rough price estimate would place it in the range of Rs. 85 lacs to Rs. 1 crore (ex-showroom) or even higher for the more powerful 55 TFSI e quattro variant in India.

The newer Q5 PHEV is an upgraded version of the previous generation PHEV model. It has:

2025 Audi Q5 Plug-In Hybrid Engine and Powertrain

This model is offered with 2 robust powertrain options, which both combine a turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor and a larger battery for improved range. The car supports AC charging at up to 11 kW, and it goes from 0 to 100% in 2.5 hours.

The common mechanical details:

  • A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine (TFSI)
  • An electric motor is integrated into the gearbox
  • A 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT)
  • Audi's signature Quattro all-wheel drive system on all PHEV variants
  • A larger 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack
  • Improved electric-only range of up to 100 km (WLTP)

Q5 e-hybrid (50 TFSI e quattro):

  • Combined System Output: 295 bhp

  • Top speed is 250 kmph

Q5 e-hybrid (55 TFSI e quattro):

The new Q5 PHEV operates with three driving modes:

  • EV Mode: Prioritizes electric driving until the battery is depleted.
  • Hybrid Mode: Intelligently combines petrol and electric power for optimal efficiency.
  • Charge/Hold Mode: Allows the engine to charge the battery or maintain its current state of charge.
