The name Suzuki is quite prominent throughout the automobile world. The Japanese manufacturer is active in both the two-wheeler and four-wheeler segment. Talking about Suzuki Motor Corporation, the company is headquartered in Japan. The parent company holds a major stake in its Indian subsidiary – Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd (SMIL).

As a global giant, the manufacturer has product units in over 22 countries around the world. In India, Suzuki gained majority of its familiarity through its collaboration with Maruti. Suzuki is also actively involved in production of four-wheeler ATVs which it started in the year 1983.

The first motorcycles introduced by the manufacturer were the GS400 and GS750 which came with a four-stroke engine in 1978.
