As a global giant, the manufacturer has product units in over 22 countries around the world. In India, Suzuki gained majority of its familiarity through its collaboration with Maruti. Suzuki is also actively involved in production of four-wheeler ATVs which it started in the year 1983.

The first motorcycles introduced by the manufacturer were the GS400 and GS750 which came with a four-stroke engine in 1978.
