Skoda Auto India recently announced that it has marked a new sales milestone of one lakh units in just two years. The automaker has achieved this milestone due to the success of Kushaq and Slavia cars in the Indian market. Both of these cars are built on the MQB-A0-IN platform. The Kushaq and Slavia continue to bring strong sales for the automaker. Previously, it took the automaker six years to reach the one lakh sales milestone, but now Kushaq and Slavia have helped the manufacturer sell over 100,000 vehicles in the last two years.

The brand also revealed that it had sold 48,755 units in the calendar year 2023 between January 1 and December 31. This number was less than 2022, as the company sold 53,721 units in one year. The company said that supply issues and related constraints are responsible for this marginal decline. However, the company is focusing on maintaining momentum through 2023 after the record-high sales of 2022.

Skoda Auto marked a 100 percent hike in sales of the Kodiaq last year, registering an all-time peak sales volume. At the end of 2023, Skoda expanded its service and sales network to around 260 touchpoints, up from 125 customer touchpoints in 2021. Additionally, it has increased exports by sending goods created in India to GCC countries and other right-hand-drive markets. The automaker has already started exporting its cars to Vietnam last year from India, and its operations in India will play a crucial role in establishing its business in the Southeast Asian country.

The Brand Director of Skoda Auto India, Petr Janeba, stated that "It was extremely important for us to maintain our momentum through 2023 after the record-high of 2022. Our efforts in 2023 focused on consolidating our position by continuous enhancements across our product range, widening our network and improving. the quality in sales and after-sales for more satisfied customers, connected through our Human Touch philosophy to cater to all our customers’ needs. Despite the supply challenges in the first half of the year, we have ensured that we ended the last quarter of 2023 on a positive note. For 2024, we have a mix of exciting product actions on the existing range, new product announcements, furthering our growth through exports and expanding our network. And we will continue with our laser-sharp focus on customer delight, as we welcome new customers into the Škoda family."

Skoda Auto is now getting ready to launch two new models in 2024. The carmaker is likely to bring the Enyaq as its very first electric offering. However, the subcompact SUV is still in its production form and could be launched later. The company is also planning to launch the new-gen Kodiaq from its global lineup in the coming days. The brand will launch the next-generation Octavia in the international market in February 2023.
