  • Indian World Cup Winning Captain MSD Birthday: Car and Bike Collection

India’s World Cup Winning Captain MSD celebrates his 39th Birthday today. 2007 T20 Cricket World Cup, 2011 Cricket World Cup and 2013 ICC Champions Trophy make MS Dhoni one of the most successful Captains of India. Dhoni also led CSK to numerous IPL (Indian Premier League) titles, he is surely one of the IPL all-time greats. With the cricketing world in the quarantine phase as COVID-19 has forced the cancellation of various sporting events. MS is spending precious time with Wife Sakshi and daughter Ziva after being on tour for more than a decade. He is often spotted driving his favourite cars on Ranchi roads or riding his bikes. On his birthday, today we take a look at MSD's Car and Bike Collection.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

Indian wicket keeper-batsman MS Dhoni added the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk to his collection in 2019. One interesting trivia, he is the first owner of the Jeep Grand Cherokee in India. 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is powered by a 6.2-litre V-8 HEMI engine, the SUV churns out a power output of 707 horses. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with a rear-wheel drive as standard. Trackhawk is one of the Jeep's most powerful and quickest SUV's too. It can accelerate from  0-100 kmph in just 3.62 seconds. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is priced at Rs 1.2 crore (ex-showroom), India.

Nissan Jonga

MS Dhoni was spotted driving a modified Nissan Jonga in his hometown Ranchi. He owns the Jonga which was at some point used by the Indian Army. The SUV's official name is Nissan Jonga 1 Ton. The SUV gets a green paint job and is modified as per the cricketer's requirements. Dhoni’s Nissan Jonga is one of the rare working models in the country. Nissan Jonga was  not  produced for private buyers and hence it is not that easy to spot on Indian roads. Nissan manufactured the SUV come pick-up at the Jabalpur Ordnance and Guncarriage Assembly Facility. Its production was stopped in 1999 but it holds a lot of nostalgic value for MS. He has served as an honorary Lieutenant Colonel with the Indian Territorial Army and is a qualified paratrooper. Powered by a six-cylinder 3956cc in-line petrol engine, the SUV churns out 110 bhp of maximum power output.

Ferrari 599 GTO

Ferrari 599 GTO is a stunning piece of engineering from the Italian automaker and Dhoni owns the Indian Special Edition which has a tricolour running across the hood. The Ferrari 599 GTO is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 petrol engine, as the supercar belts out a majestic 661 bhp of power and 620 Nm of peak torque. It can clock a top speed of 335 Kmph. To set the record straight, the 599 GTO did the Fiorano Test Circuit in just 1 minute 24 seconds which is insane if you ask me.

At the time of the launch, Kawasaki Ninja H2 was priced at Rs 29 lakhs (ex-showroom), India.

Harley-Davidson Fat Boy

A must have for any bike enthusiast, Dhoni's garage also comprises of  a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy. This particular model is an old-generation motorcycle that was powered by a 1690cc air-cooled, V-Twin engine. The Fat Boy produces 76.71 bhp of power @ 5,250 RPM and 132 Nm of peak torque @  3,250 RPM. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed transmission. 2020 BS6 Harley Davidson Fat Boy price begins at Rs 18.25 lakhs (ex-showroom), India.

Dhoni's other notable bikes in the collection are Confederate X132 Hellcat, Suzuki Shogun, BSA Goldstar, Harley-Davidson Iron 883. In fact the first bike that he got himself was the iconic Rajdoot Yamaha RD350.
