Triumph has finally unveiled the Daytona 660 motorcycle for the international market. The two-wheeler maker has brought back the iconic nameplate with the new motorcycle. It is likely to launch in the Indian market as well. However, the automaker has not revealed the launch date yet. The new motorcycle is the third 660-cc offering in the British automaker’s portfolio.

The Triumph Daytona 660 gets the same underpinnings as the Trident 660 with a few changes. The motorcycle comes with three riding modes: road, rain, and a newly added sport mode. The Daytona 660 gets a full fairing, which gives it a sporty look. It comes with split LED headlights set up at the front along with clip-on handlebars.

The Daytona 660 is powered by the same 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 93.70 bhp of maximum power at 11,250 rpm and 69 Nm of peak torque at 8,250 rpm. The Trident 660, on the other hand, generates 80 bhp at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm of peak torque at 6,250 rpm. The new Daytona utilizes a six-speed gearbox.

The Daytona 660 motorcycle rides on Showa 41 mm USD front forks at the front and a preload adjustable Showa monoshock at the back. The braking duties on the motorcycle are being done by dual 310 mm front discs with 4-piston calipers and a single 220 mm rear disc with one piston caliper. Triumph is also offering a dual-channel ABS setup on the new bike. The discs are mounted on 17-inch alloys wrapped in a 120/70 front and a 180/55 rear tyre.

As of now, Triumph has only unveiled the new Daytona 660 globally, and it is expected to be priced around INR 9 lakh to INR 9.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The new motorcycle will give tough competition to the Honda CBR 650R and the Kawasaki Ninja 650.
