Hero MotoCorp recently launched the much awaited XPulse series of bikes in the Indian market. With the launch, XPulse has occupied the spot of the most affordable ADV in the Indian market. The price for the fuel injected version of XPulse is Rs. 1.05 lakh and the carburettor version is priced at Rs. 97,000 while the 200T version is priced at Rs. 94,000, all prices are ex-showroom. The company has also started the delivery of these bikes and now the sales data of the same has been released by the company. However, the company has only released the data for the XPulse 200T and not the higher priced variant of the bike. The data shows that Hero MotoCorp’s XPulse 200T has gone on to become the highest selling ADV bike of India and has left the nearest competitor Royal Enfield Himalayan far behind.

The numbers released shows that the Indian bike maker managed to sell 2,674 units of the bike in the month of June 2019. What is to be noted here is that in the first month of the sales of the Hero XPulse 200 range, the bikes registered less sales than the RE Himalayan, but this could also be due to the fact that the deliveries of the bike started after the launch. Meanwhile, for the month of June RE Himalayan, the erstwhile most affordable ADV in India could register only 1,223 units in June 2019.

Talking of the Hero XPulse 200T, it is the most affordable bike among the three variants of the series in the market. Being the more affordable variant it misses out on the off-road spec features and is targeted at touring enthusiasts. The presence of on-road tyres and the normal positioning of the exhaust hints makes it on-road friendly. As far as the mechanics are concerned, the three variants of the bike are no different and share all the cycle parts as well as features among them. The price of XPulse 200T is also Rs 94,000, which is much cheaper than the Royal Enfield Himalayan, which gets a price tag of Rs 1.8 lakh, ex-showroom.

The front suspension of XPulse 200T comes with a travel of 190 mm and the rear suspension has a travel of 170mm. The bike also comes digital instrument console that offers Bluetooth pairing facility and also has features like the ability to display caller’s name, navigation directions and message alerts on the screen. XPulse 200T also feature a charging port for phones, another feature that will please the touring enthusiasts.

As already mentioned, the three variants of the bike share the same mechanicals and come with a 199.6 cc single cylinder engine rated to deliver 18.4 PS and 17.1 Nm. The bikes come with the same engine that is also offered on the naked street Xtreme 200R. This engine is paired with a 5 speed manual gearbox. The fuel injected variant of XPulse differs from the other two in terms of fuel injection only.
