Hero, the parent company of the Vida EV brand, has announced the launch of 2 new electric scooters by July 2025. The core strategy behind these new launches appears to be to offer more affordable electric scooters to increase Hero's penetration in the Indian EV market.
Hero aims to bridge the gap with competitors like TVS, Bajaj, and Ola Electric, where it currently holds the 5th position in EV sales. Take a look at the details of two new anticipated e-scooters.
About the Hero Vida Z
This is one of the highly anticipated upcoming models from Hero's EV sub-brand, Vida. It was initially showcased at EICMA 2024 (Milan, Italy) and later at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 in India.
Vida Z is being positioned as a more accessible and family-oriented electric scooter compared to the existing Vida V1. It is expected to be the most affordable model in the Vida lineup.
Initial estimates suggest a starting price around Rs. 1 lac (ex-showroom) for the base variant.
The Vida Z features a smoother, more rounded, and less aggressive design than V1. While specific launch colors for India are pending, the scooter has been spotted in a vibrant yellow.
This electric scooter is powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) and has a power of 4.4 kW.
It is expected to achieve a top speed above 80 km/h and likely features multiple riding modes. It might also come with a touchscreen TFT display with smartphone integration.
The core highlight is the scooter's modular platform that can accommodate various battery capacities ranging from 2.2 kWh to 4.4 kWh. It will have removable battery packs.
This accessible family e-scooter will compete with TVS iQube, Ather Rizta, Bajaj Chetak (2901/2903), Ola S1 X Series, Hero Electric Optima, and Honda Activa Electric (Upcoming).

About the speculated second scooter
Details about the second scooter are currently scarce. It could be another variant based on the same affordable platform or perhaps an even more basic offering to cater to a wider audience.
It could also be the strategically repriced and re-positioned Vida V2 variants (especially the Lite and Plus). The July 2025 timeline may see a renewed push for these models.
