The iconic Bajaj Chetak is taking back its market share now with its e-scooter model. It sold the most number of electric scooters in Q4 FY25, thanks to its premium quality and increasing retail and service centres.

Bajaj Chetak seems to be taking over the scooter market again, but this time with its electric scooter. The Bajaj Chetak is now the most sold electric scooter in the Q4 FY25.

This nostalgic premium metal body EV has grabbed the 29% market share in the last quarter. The brand attributes this sales number to its wide retail network, new model launches, and the increasing service centres.

Bajaj Chetak electric scooter sales insights for Q4 FY25

This name is not new to the Indian scooter buyers and is a household name. In the last quarter, Maharashtra state saw the domination of Bajaj's iconic e-scooter with around half of the market share.

Bajaj sold 34,863 units of this scooter in March 2025, and not just that, it sold an impressive 230,761 total scooters in FY25, which is about 20% of the total segment market share.

This practical and highly durable scooter competes with Ather 450X, Ola S1 Pro, and TVS iQube currently. The scooter outperformed the TVS iQube (30,453 units), Ola Electric (23,430 units), Ather Energy (15,446 units), and Hero MotoCorp (7,977 units).

The key highlight for Bajaj and the EV buyers is that this model recorded a 116% year-on-year growth from FY24.

This retro-looking electric scooter, which reminds the Indian riders of the iconic petrol Bajaj Chetak, has a similar premium-feeling metal body. The top model offers a 153 km of IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range, and its longer floorboard provides comfort for the long city drives.
