Bajaj Auto has launched its popular Chetak lineup electric scooter - the Bajaj Chetak 3001 at an attractive price of Rs. 99,990. The "Chetak" name carries immense nostalgic value in India.

Bajaj Chetak became the best-selling electric 2-wheeler in India with around 28.1% market share in February 2025. The Bajaj EV competes with scooters like TVS iQube, Ola S1 X, Ather Rizta, and Hero Vida V1 Pro/Plus.

Bajaj Chetak 3001 Price and Availability

The new electric Chetak has been launched in India at a competitive ex-showroom price of Rs. 99,990. This makes it the most affordable variant in the Chetak lineup.

Bookings for the Chetak 3001 have already commenced across all authorized Bajaj Chetak showrooms in India. Deliveries are expected to begin at the end of June 2025. The scooter is available in 3 colors: red, blue, and yellow.

Bajaj Chetak 3001 Key Features and What's New

The new Chetak focuses on practicality, improved range, and smart connectivity for urban commuters. It replaces the earlier entry-level Chetak 2903 and is built on the newer Chetak 35 Series platform.

It has a much larger 35-litre underseat storage capacity from the 21-litre space in the 2903 due to the new floorboard-mounted battery. The scooter boasts a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) riding range of 127 km on a single charge.

The new Chetak has a solid steel body, which is unique in this segment. Its battery and motor are IP67-rated for water and dust resistance.

It features a color LCD digital instrument console. Buyers can also opt for an accessory, "TecPac" for enhanced connectivity and smart features like:

  • Call accept/reject and music controls
  • Hill Hold Assist
  • Reverse Light
  • Auto-flashing stop lamp
  • 'Guide Me Home' lights

Bajaj Chetak 3001 Battery and Powertrain

The new Chetak 3001 packs a Lithium-ion 3.0 kWh floorboard-mounted battery pack. This design also helps in lowering the scooter's center of gravity, which results in improved balance.

It comes with a 750W charger as standard, which can charge the battery from 0 to 80 percent in approximately 3 hours and 50 minutes. The scooter is likely to run on a BLDC (Brushless DC) motor.
