Nissan, one of India’s leading car manufacturers, has updated the famous Nissan Magnite with a CNG powertrain option. The SUV is now available with a CNG kit, which can be fitted at dealerships for an extra cost of INR 75,000. The new CNG kit has been constructed by a third-party company, Motozen, which will also offer a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty for the components.

2025 Nissan Magnite CNG Details

The new Nissan Magnite CNG will start arriving at all Nissan-authorized dealerships on June 1, 2025. The new CNG kit will be installed in the SUV in three phases. The first installation process will be done via government-authorized vendors in seven states, starting with Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka.

The new Magnite CNG comes equipped with 20+ advanced features and more than 55 safety features. Nissan has already shipped the new Magnite CNG SUV to over 65 countries in left- and right-hand drive options. The company hopes to expand Magnite's appeal among cost-aware and environmentally friendly consumers through this new CNG option, cementing its position in the mass-market compact SUV segment.

2025 Nissan Magnite CNG Powertrain

The new CNG kit equipped in the Nissan Magnite SUV draws power from a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine churns out a power of 71 hp and a peak torque of 96 Nm. 

Nissan Magnite SUV Features

In terms of features, the outgoing Magnite facelift comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, rear AC vents, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger, and auto climate control. Other features incorporate a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, Type-C charging ports, auto-dimming IRVM, three-point seat belts, ESC, six airbags, and more.

The Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, Mr. Saurabh Vatsa, commented on the recent development and said that the new Nissan Magnite is an outstanding model for the company. To cater to more customers across India, Nissan dealers are going to offer a government-approved CNG retrofitment kit as an additional fuel option.
