Maruti Suzuki India has officially launched its much-awaited fourth-generation Swift in the Indian market. The revamped Swift comes with a new engine, evolutionary design, and upgraded features. The auto giant first unveiled the fourth-generation hatchback in Japan. The Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the most important cars for the company due to its remarkable performance in the Indian market. The iconic hatchback is available at a starting price of INR 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the newly launched hatchback are already open for a token amount of INR 11,000. Interested customers can reserve the Swift online or by visiting their nearest Maruti Suzuki dealerships. Maruti is expected to commence deliveries and test drives on May 12.
The 2024 Maruti Swift is produced at Suzuki Motor's Gujarat facility. It is available in five variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXI Plus DT, and ZXi Plus. The prices of these variants start at INR 6.49 lakh and go up to INR 9.65 lakh (ex-showroom). The auto giant is offering the Swift in nine different color schemes, including Pearl Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Sizzling Red, Magma Grey, and three dual-tone colors like Sizzling Red with Midnight Black Roof, Lustre Blue with Midnight Black Roof, and Pearl Arctic White with Midnight Black Roof.

Inside the cabin, the Maruti Swift takes inspiration from Fronx and Baleno. It features a dashboard layout that is very much like the one in Baleno. The Maruti Suzuki Swift comes equipped with a new analogue instrument cluster, connected car tech, climate control, 40+ connected car features, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless charger, and a heads-up display.
Maruti Suzuki has retained the overall iconic silhouette of the outgoing Swift. The hatchback now features a pair of blacked-out headlamps along with a projector setup and L-shaped LED daytime running lamps. The 2024 Maruti Swift has new fog lamps and grille. It rolls on a new set of 15-inch alloy wheels. The car measures 15 mm in length, 30 mm in height, and 40 mm in width. It has the same wheelbase of 2,450 mm. The Swift has a revamped bumper and a redesigned tailgate at the rear.
In terms of safety features, the 2024 Swift comes equipped with ABS with EBD, six airbags, stability control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, Hill Hold Assist, and rear parking sensors. In addition, the hatchback gets a new wide-angle rear camera, a high-speed alert system, and a security alarm system.
Under the hood, the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift draws power from a new three-cylinder, 1.2-litre, Z-series engine that churns out maximum power of 80 bhp and peak torque of 112 Nm. The auto marque is offering a five-speed AMT or five-speed manual gearbox. The new hatchback has a claimed fuel efficiency of 25.75 kmpl for automatic and 24.8 kmpl for the MT variants.
