BYD has unveiled the new iteration of the Atto 3 electric sports utility vehicle for the model year 2024. The new model comes with several upgrades, including a new infotainment system and new color schemes. It features the same design language as the outgoing model. The auto giant has also unveiled new software updates for the electric SUV, incorporating the new Intelligent Start system. The new system enables the driver to start the EV by pushing the brake pedal.
Build Your Dreams (BYD) is offering the 2024 Atto 3 in a brand-new Cosmos Black color scheme. On the tailgate, the SUV gets a BYD logo that has been changed from the Build Your Dreams badge. The chrome window and the D-pillar insert feature a new gloss black shade. The electric vehicle rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels with 235/50 R18 tyres. All these new updates were made after buyers in the global markets complained about the rubber's poor grip.
Inside the cabin, the 2024 Atto 3 remains the same as the previous model, but it does get an updated infotainment screen. The cabin gets a new dark black and blue color scheme. The electric offering comes with the same larger 15.6-inch touchscreen system, which is also equipped in the new Seal EV. The outgoing Atto 3, on the other hand, houses a 12.8-inch unit. The screen has the same rotating feature that enables it in portrait and landscape modes.

The all-new infotainment unit equipped in the car also gets features like a web browser, Amazon Music support, a BYD app store, ambient lighting, and a karaoke feature. The ambient lighting inside the cabin is also linked to Spotify. Other enhancements include expanded voice recognition software, a thicker sunroof shade, proximity alarm alerts, anti-theft alarm sound, and quieter navigation.
The new electric car is based on e-Platform 3.0. Powering the MY2024 BYD Atto 3 is the same 49.9 kWh blade battery that provides a certified range of 345 km on one charge. The e-motor churns out 201 bhp of power and a peak torque of 310 Nm. The SUV also gets a larger 60.5-kWh battery set that promises a range of 420 WLTP on one charge. The Indian-spec model comes with an ARAI-certified range of 521 km.
The BYD Atto 3 is currently available in Singapore and Japan. The auto giant will gradually unveil this model in other global markets as well. In India, the Atto 3 is available at a price of INR 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and the updated model is expected to make its arrival on Indian shores later in 2024.
