Maruti Suzuki is readying a mid-cycle facelift of the Baleno hatchback for the Indian market. Last month, the internet was flooded with the first images of the upcoming car but this time it has been spotted in flesh during its TVC shoot by the folks at Team-BHP. The 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift is expected to launch around May next year as the company will first launch the facelifted version of the Vitara Brezza. The spy images indicate that the hatchback has been given a thorough cosmetic makeover.

Going by the spy-shots, the 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift flaunts a thinner grille with restyled headlamps and tweaked front bumper. The spotted unit was sporting a 'Nexa Blue' paint scheme while boasting of chrome finished door handles and dual-tone alloy wheels. The rear profile of the hatch gets a redesigned tail gate and LED tail lamp cluster. The updates are not just limited to the exterior styling but are also expected to be carried over to the interior cabin in the form of a fresh upholstery and new tech features. The 2022 Baleno facelift is believed to come with the latest version of touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.

Mechanically, the Baleno facelift will not see any major upgrades while powered by the same 1.2L petrol and 1.2L DualJet mild-hybrid engines as the ongoing model. The power output and torque performance are expected to be identical at 89 bhp and 113 Nm, respectively. The hybrid version will get a 5-speed manual transmission as standard while the non-hybrid version will be offered with an additional CVT gearbox. The 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift price is expected to start from Rs 6 Lakhs while going as high as Rs 9.50 Lakhs for the range-topping variant (Both the prices are Ex. Showroom). It will rival the likes of Tata Altroz, Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz in India.
