BMW M GmbH has introduced the BMW XM Label Red as the official safety car for the forthcoming 2024 MotoGP season. This high-level SUV from the German luxury car brand will now run along with the MotoGP motorcycles on racing tracks in the upcoming 2024 season. The BMW XM Label is a high-powered version, and it is the first-ever BMW M high-performance vehicle to be equipped with an electric drive system. This safety car was first unveiled at the 2023 BMW M Award, and BMW handed over the keys to Francesco Bagnaia, the winner of the MotoGP World Championship with seven pole positions. The XM Red Label has replaced the BMW M2 safety car.

BMW models have been selected as the official cars of the MotoGP for the last 21 years, and the forthcoming season of this championship will not be any different. The introduction of the new track safety car by BMW M GmbH has added more zing to the upcoming championship.

The CEO of Dorna Sports Ezpeleta said, “BMW M GmbH enters its 26th season as the ‘Official Car of MotoGP’ in 2024. The company has always tasked itself with employing its technical innovations to help ensure safety at the racetrack. The BMW XM Label Red is another genuine highlight in the fleet of high-performance automobiles in use in MotoGP. We are already looking forward to seeing it on the track in Qatar.”

The BMW XM Label Red comes equipped with a performance-based M HYBRID system, and it is embellished with different design accents. The XM Label Red won the BMW M Award, and it debuted after the season's last qualifying session. The car was unveiled as the winner of the BMW M Award, with Ducati rider Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia taking home the honor for the second time in a row.

The safety car is equipped with a range of safety enhancements, especially designed for MotoGP track use. The BMW XM Label Red has extra flashing front lights, a front splitter, a safety car roof bar, a 6-point racing harness, Recaro seats, and a fire extinguisher. The track safety car comes with a matte grey finish along with red highlights. The BMW XM Label Red is powered by a V8 engine and an electric motor that is mated to an 8-speed M Steptronic gearbox. Both the engine and motor can churn out a total output of 737 bhp.
