BMW India announced today that it had registered a record-breaking sale for its luxury car and two-wheelers under the BMW Motorrad sub-brand. The auto giant is gearing up to launch 10 new products, including motorcycles and cars, in India in the calendar year 2024. The manufacturer confirmed that it marked 18 percent sales growth by retailing 14,172 luxury cars (BMW and MINI) in 2023. Out of this, 13,303 vehicles were BMW models, whereas the remaining were BMW variants.
The BMW 3 Series became its best-selling model as the company sold 2,702 units in India. The brand sold 2,633 units of the X1 model, followed by 1,513 units of the X7 model. The sports activity vehicles segment contributed 54 percent to the yearly sales number, achieving a surge of 24 percent.

The company registered a sales growth of 325 percent in the electric vehicle segment, with a total of 1,474 units sold in the Indian market. This marks around 10 percent growth in overall 4-wheeler sales for the brand in the country.
BMW Motorrad also held a top position with 8,768 units of motorcycles delivered last year. The company registered a sales growth of 20 percent in 2023, and the sales were fueled by the plus-500cc bike models.
The President of BMW Group India, Vikram Pawah, stated that, ““2023 has been a record-breaking milestone year for BMW Group India. All three brands – BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad – had delivered their highest-ever sales. We have the most desirable brands and luxurious products. We have created bespoke experiences and services that ensure complete peace of mind and freedom to enjoy unlimited driving pleasure. As we change the game, our sight is set on increasing the market share and setting new benchmarks.”
Encouraged by the record-breaking performance in 2023, BMW said that it will be launching 19 new models this year, including the new X3, new 5-series, R13 100 GS, and new MINI Countryman.
