About Kawasaki

Kawasaki is yet another Japanese manufacturer who enjoys formidable presence in the Indian two-wheeler market. India Kawasaki Motors is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kawasaki Heavy Industries. The Japanese manufactured entered the Indian market in the year 2009. It did so by forging an alliance Bajaj Motorcycles. However, just a year later it went on to establish its own subsidiary in the year 2010 where it started on its own. Initially it started assembling a couple of bikes at Bajaj’s Akurdi facility. Among the first models to be assembled included the Ninja 250R. There are currently five models which Kawasaki manufactures at the plant – Z250, Ninja 650, Ninja 300, ER6n and the Versys 650.

Kawasaki has varied interests as well. On a global level, the Japanese brand is well known for manufacturing automotive segments such as Watercrafts and ATVs. However, in India, it only sells motorcycles. All the parts of the models mentioned above are imported from Japan as built-up CBU units. The manufacturer has tie-ups with 12 exclusive showrooms in the country. On the contrary a couple of models such as Ninja 300 and Versys 650 can be bought from Bajaj’s Probiking showroom as well.

These include Kawasaki KLX 110, Kawasaki Z250, Kawasaki Ninja 650, Kawasaki Z650, Kawasaki Versys 650, Kawasaki Z900, Kawasaki Ninja 1000, and flagship Kawasaki H2R - World’s most expensive bike model are few of those 21 models.

Kawasaki keeps introducing new Kawasaki bike models from time to time. It is astounding as to how the Japanese manufacturer has been able to introduce 21 models in a time frame of less than 10 years. Their portfolio has strength and majorly focuses on the sports section. There are few odd models here and there but the roots are the same. They cater to the needs of people seeking sports bike.
