Triumph Motorcycles has recently teased the Daytona 660 motorcycle, which is scheduled for January. The two-wheeler manufacturer will officially unveil the fully faired Daytona 660 motorcycle on January 9 at 5:30 PM IST next year. The Daytona 660 motorcycle will be inspired by the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660.

The teaser images shared online disclose that the unit on the bike will be shared with other 660-cc bikes as it also comes with a 660-cc engine. The 660 cc is a 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 80 bhp of maximum power at 10,250 rpm and peak torque of 64 Nm at 6,250 rpm. The unit is paired with a six-speed gearbox along with a slip-and-assist clutch.

The test mules of the Daytona 660 motorcycle have been spotted several times globally. The test mules provide hints that the motorcycle appears to be more like a sport tourer than a complete sport bike. With the launch of this motorcycle, the manufacturer is likely to bring back the nameplate Daytona.

The Triumph Daytona 660 comes with a pair of clip-on handlebars and slightly back-set footpegs. The instrument cluster, switchgear, and levers equipped in the upcoming motorcycle look like the ones in the Tiger Sport and Trident motorcycles. The Daytona 660 motorcycle is likely to have two riding modes (rain and road): traction control and a bi-directional quickshifter.

Triumph India is expected to offer the new motorcycle, which can cost more than the Tiger Sport 660 and Trident 660, which are available at an initial price of INR 8.12 lakh (ex-showroom), whereas the Tiger Sport 660 comes at a price of INR 9.34 lakh (ex-showroom). The Daytona 660 is expected to come in the price range of INR 8–9 lakh (ex-showroom). The Daytona will give tough competition to the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 650, Honda CBR650R, and Yamaha R7.
