Tata Motors has announced that Starbus has crossed the 1 Lakh sales milestone in the country. Being the most sold fully-built bus brand in India, Tata Starbus is offered in varied configurations to suit multiple applications like staff and school transportation. The Starbus also comes in an all-electric avatar and can be seen running in several cities across the Indian market. Tata Starbus is locally built at the brand's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Dharwad, Karnataka while it is the preferred choice of bus for several fleet operators.

Tata Starbus Electric comes in four trims: Tata 4/12m Low Entry AC Electric Bus, Tata 4/12m Low Entry Non AC Electric Bus, Tata 4/12m Low Floor AC Electric Bus and Tata 4/12m Low Floor Non AC Electric bus. The 4/12m Low Entry electric buses are offered with seating capacity of 36 adults while the 4/12m Low Floor electric buses are available in a 32-seater configuration. All these buses take 2-3 hours to get fully charged through fast DC chargers as they are equipped with Lithium ion battery pack. Once fully charged, they have a driving range of 200+ kms with a top speed of 65-75 kmph. One of the most impressive features in Tata Starbus electric is Hydraulic power steering with Tilt & Telescopic feature.
