Skoda and Volkswagen India have ramped up the production at their plant at Chakan near Pune, Maharashtra. The aim is to cater to the resizing demand for Skoda Volkswagen group cars in the country. Besides this, the brand has also started the third shift at the Pune facility. 


Skoda Auto Volkswagen India manages the Indian operations of a total of five Volkswagen Group brands namely Skoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini. Currently, the Pune facility manufactures Volkswagen Taigun & Virtus and Skoda Slavia & Kushaq. Until now, the brand was producing VW Polo and Vento. Besides serving the domestic market, the company is gearing up production for export markets. It has already begun exports of Volkswagen T-Cross to Mexico. While the export of other India 2.0 cars will begin in the coming months.
