In 2024, Kia Motors plans to introduce two new Utility Vehicles (UVs), including the Kia Carnival of the fourth generation and the Kia EV9 electric SUV. As a fully assembled product, the EV9 will only be available in limited quantities on the Indian market.
This year's Auto Expo served as the public debut for both models. 2024 Kia EV9 price is to be disclosed later along with the Kia EV9 Electric SUV Release Date. Three different powertrain options are available for the EV9's global edition, including a 76.1kWh battery and an electric motor with rear-wheel drive, a 99.8kWh battery with rear-wheel drive, and a 99.8kWh battery with all-wheel drive using two electric motors. The report also notes that the EV9 will only be available in a limited number of completely built-up (CBU) units for the Indian market.
According to the study, Kia India has targeted a large expansion of its sales network. Over 600 touchpoints will be established by the corporation by 2028 in addition to the 300 showrooms that are already dispersed throughout the nation. This tactical choice demonstrates Kia's dedication to growing its market share and providing easy access to its vehicles for customers across India.
The report suggests that the Korean automaker plans to launch two electric vehicles in India by 2025 as part of its Kia 2.0 strategy. These EVs would be produced in-country at a Kia factory in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
In keeping with this strategy, Kia earlier declared an investment of 2,000 crore for its electric vehicle manufacturing, R&D, and infrastructure development. Kia has high expectations and plans to take a significant market share of 20–25% of the electric vehicle market by 2030.
As per the expo showcase, the 2024 Kia EV9 Review is expected to be positive. However, the final launch is awaited to decide the future of these vehicles.
