Maruti Suzuki India has announced a price cut of 1.50 lakh on the Jimny SUV. In the Indian market, the Jimny five-door sports utility vehicle was launched in 2023. It was sold via Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa premium retail network. Maruti MY2023 models are receiving the biggest discount over the MY2024 models to clear the inventory.

The Jimny MY2024 models have now received massive discounts for this month, including cash discounts of INR 50,000 and corporate discounts of INR 3,000. However, these new discounts may differ depending on the trim, availability of stock, location, etc. In the Indian market, the Jimny five-door comes at a price tag of INR 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom), and it is available in two variants: Alpha and Zeta. The auto giant also exports the made-in-India Jimny five-door to other markets like Indonesia and South Africa.

In the lifestyle SUV segment, the Jimny rivals the likes of the Mahindra Thar, which comes in three- and five-door versions. Maruti faced a lot of criticism over the vehicle’s pricing, which majorly hindered increasing the SUV's sales numbers. To increase its sales numbers in the market, the auto giant even rolled out a new Thunder Edition, which is priced at INR 10.74 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Jimny SUV comes equipped with a range of updated features. Powering the SUV is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that churns out 103 bhp of peak power and 134 Nm of peak torque. The powertrain is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed torque converter unit. The Jimny also gets the competitor’s AllGrip Pro 4x4 system, which sends the power to all four wheels.
