Bajaj Auto gives a price hike to Dominar 400 and 250 in the Indian market

Baja Auto has increased the price of its flagship motorcycle the Dominar in the Indian market. Thus Bajaj Dominar 400 now receives a second price hike. While Dominar 250 gets its first price hike since its launch in the country.


Talking about Bajaj Dominar 400, it is now retailed at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom) after an increase of Rs 1997 in the price. Earlier it was available for Rs 1.97 lakh (ex-showroom). The bike draws its power from a 373c single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. The motor churns out a maximum power of 39.4 bhp @8000 rpm and a peak torque of 35 Nm @7000 rpm. Furthermore, the engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-assisted clutch. The Dominar 400 is offered in a total of two colour options namely Vine Black and Aurora Green.

Dominar 400’s younger sibling Dominar 250, on the other hand, is available at Rs 1.64 lakh (ex-showroom) after the price hike of Rs 2003. The bike is powered by a 248cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that generates 25bhp power and 23.5Nm torque. The unit is linked to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-assisted clutch. This engine has been borrowed from KTM 250 Duke. As for the colour options, the bike is offered in Canyon Red and Vine Black.


The price hike will help to bridge the gap between the current models on sale and the upcoming models in the Indian market. Besides these, Bajaj Auto has recently filed a trademark for the name ‘Neuron’. It is being speculated that it might be the name for the brand’s new smartphone connectivity feature.
