TVS Motor Company is the third largest two-wheeler manufacturing company in India. It had estimated revenue of $2 billion in the financial year 2016-17. Majority of the revenue generation of TVS Group happens through its motor division. Annually, TVS sells around 3 million units of the bike with a capacity of over 4 million vehicles. To add to these mammoth statistics, they are the 2nd largest two-wheeler exporter in India with exports to over 60 countries. There are more than 3 crore (30 million) customers who ride TVS scooter. Thus the motor division is the largest company in the TVS group which is demonstrated by the size and turnover.

Much of TVS success’ can be credited to Suzuki as well wherein they shared a 19-year relationship before ending it in 2001. The collaboration was aimed at technology transfer, to enable design and production of two-wheelers catering to Indian market needs. Together they launched models such as the Suzuki Supra, Suzuki Shoguri, Suzuki Samurai and Suzuki Shaolin before parting ways. TVS paved its own way and entered into an agreement wherein Suzuki had to sign a 30-month moratorium wherein the Japanese brand promised not to enter the Indian market.
