About Nissan

Nissan Motor began its journey in India in the year 2005. The company operating in India is a subsidiary of the Japan-based multinational while the company is based in Japan. Nissan, Renault and Mitsubishi worked together and allied in 1999. In India, Renault established its manufacturing unit in the year 2010, Nissan along with Renault started production in Chennai. Nissan India has a decent portfolio as it offers hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs. It has had a decent amount of success in India, and it resulted in the re-launch of Datsun in 2014. Nissan has a broad portfolio for the international market; however, in India, the Infiniti segment has not become a part yet.

In India, the Japanese manufacturer provides seven car models. Herein, 2 are upcoming Nissan cars whereas 5 are new Nissan car models. The list comprises of two hatchback cars, one sedan car, one SUV and one coupe car. These models come in 11 petrol variants and 9 diesel variants. Some of the most popular Nissan cars in India include Nissan GT-R, Terrano, Micra, Micra Active and Nissan Sunny. The company has 210 dealerships spread across 119 cities around the country. Last but not the least, Nissan is a world leader in electric vehicle manufacturing have sold over 275,000 electric vehicles by the end of 2016.

As all the automobile manufacturing companies in the world are trying their best to save the planet by launching electric cars, Nissan is also looking forward to launch electric cars in the Indian market. The company’s E-note was seen on the Indian roads for testing and evaluation purposes. Where on one side, the company is reaching the pinnacle of success, on the other side it has been facing hurdles too; over 3,20,000 Nissan cars in Japan had to be recalled as the cars were being reported of fires caused by the internal defect. The company is also launching the new Nissan Leaf in 2018 with cosmetic upgrades.

As for the prices of new Nissan car models, entry-level car costs between INR 6-7.36 Lakh. If you opt for sedans, it might cost somewhere between INR 6-9.5 Lakh. SUV is priced between INR 10 to 16 Lakh (GST included). You can even buy used a Nissan car model which will be a cheaper option.
