Tata Nexon EV Launched at Rs. 13.99 Lakhs in India| Droom Discovery

Tata Motors have extended their electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of Tata Nexon EV in India. Just a couple of days ago, the homegrown automaker had launched the much awaited premium hatchback - Tata Altroz alongside Tata Tiago facelift and Tata Tigor facelift providing customers a wide range of products to choose from. And now it is the turn of Tata Nexon EV that has an introductory price of Rs 13.99 lakhs to Rs 15.99 lakhs (ex-showroom) in India.

Greener in its footprint, Tata Nexon EV SUV is the second such vehicle to be introduced after the launch of Tata Tigor EV. Bookings for Tata Nexon EV had already begun at a token amount of Rs 21,000 prior to this price announcement and the product demonstration was carried out last month. Nexon EV will compete against the likes of MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona in the electric compact SUV space.

Offered in three variants, Tata Nexon EV model range includes XM, XZ+ and XZ+LUX variants. Colour options on Tata Nexon EV comprise of Glacier White, Moonlit Silver and Signature Teal Blue. With an electric range of 312 kms (ARAI certified), Tata Nexon EV comes equipped with a 3-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor that provides an overall output of 127 bhp with 245 Nm of peak torque. Matted to an automatic transmission, it has two driving modes to offer that include Drive and Sport. Performance figures state that Nexon EV can accelerate from 0 - 100 kmph in just 9.9 seconds.

Further this motor is paired to a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The battery pack can be charged via a fast charger or a regular charging point (should be a 15 AMP socket). The fast charger in particular recharges the battery from 0 - 80 percent in just 60 minutes whereas the normal charger would do the same thing in about 8 hours. For a hassle free experience, the company is also giving a 3.3 kW AC on-board charger with this electric SUV. Plus according to the company there is an 8 year warranty on both the motor as well as the battery. There is also 24x7 roadside and emergency assistance services alongside a 24x7 call centre support for Tata Nexon EV customers.

Some of the key interior features of Tata Nexon EV (depending upon the variant selected) include a leather wrapped steering wheel, leatherette seats, Harman 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system, fully automatic climate control, keyless entry and push button start among many others. Safety equipment list on board Nexon EV consists of dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Cornering Stability Control, Hill Ascent and Descent Assist.
