Tata is now offering heavy discounts on its Harrier based SUV to clear the stocks before the start of the new year.

It is not the first time that the SUV is being offered with heavy discounts.

The Harrier was on offer for the past few months but due to the ongoing auto market slowdown, the discount on the SUV is the highest this month.

The Tata dealers are now giving a discount as high as Rs 1.75 lakhs on most variants. This translates that the top-spec Harrier could be bought now for Rs. 19 lakhs on-road price instead of the current price tag of Rs. 20.47 lakhs.

The SUV has garnered a lot of praise and fan following right after its launch especially after the launch of the Dark Edition that features a unique all-black theme. The SUV rivals the likes of MG Hector and Kia Seltos, but loses an edge over the lack of automatic gearbox option. Currently, the Harrier comes with a BS4-compliant, 2.0-liter diesel motor which is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission.

The company plans to launch a more powerful BS6-compliant engine around  March 31, 2020 with a an option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic box.

Tata will also launch a 7-seater version of the Tata Harrier named Gravitas next year.
