Mercedes Benz E-Class long-wheelbase facelift is all set to make its India debut on March 16, 2021. Also, it is expected to be similar to the updated E-Class in the long-wheelbase guise that made its debut last year at the Beijing Motor show. As for the price announcement, it will take place on the same day. However, we can expect it to be slightly premium over its predecessor that retails at Rs 62.78 lakhs (ex-showroom). Once launched in the country, the new E-Class long-wheelbase will rival the likes of the BMW 5 Series, Jaguar XF, and Audi A6

Cosmetically, the India-spec E-Class facelift is almost similar to the standard model sold in countries other than China and India. Upfront, it will get a wide chrome grille, new headlamps, redesigned bumper, and chrome surround on the fog lamp clusters. Towards the rear end, the updated E-Class will feature new wraparound LED tail-lamps, redesigned bumper, and a new boot lid. All these design updates bring the updated E-Class in line with the new sedan range from the German luxury brand. Moving inside the cabin of the E-Class facelift, it too receives an update in terms of rear seat comfort, dual USB ports, and a new rear centre console touchscreen. Besides these, the sedan will also feature the latest-gen MBUX system with the ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice assistant.

Under the hood, the updated E Class is expected to get the same set of engine options as its predecessor. A 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol unit that dishes out 195 bhp power. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel motor generates 190 bhp power. There might also be a 3.0-litre straight-six diesel engine.
