Jeep has been teasing the world with the launch of its Compass based 7-seater SUV. It was in October last year when a heavily camouflaged mule was spotted testing. Since then, there have been many rumors about its name. However, with this teaser video, the company has finally put a stop to all the rumors and speculations regarding the name of its yet-to-be-launched 7-seater SUV.

Earlier this week, the company released a teaser video highlighting the alphabet “ER” on the front grille of the SUV. The American automaker had launched the same model in China, which authenticates the name of the new SUV in the Indian market, Jeep Commander. From the teaser itself, it seems that the new Jeep SUV will be having an extra curved entrance as compared to Jeep Compass.

Expected to be launching in mid-2021 in the price range of 20-30 Lakhs (Ex-showroom, India), it is set to be pitted against some mighty beasts in the full-sized SUV segment such as Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and MG Gloster. While the company is yet to officially announce the precise set of engine and gearbox choices, it is believed to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine.

The American car manufacturer had tasted instant success in the Indian market with the launch of Jeep Compass. However, over time, its popularity has somewhat faded, it is yet to be seen how the people receive the all-new Jeep Commander. We are all excited and glued to finally experience the drive and performance of the upcoming Jeep 7-seater SUV.
