The Maruti Swift has long been one of India’s favorite hatchbacks. Recently, Maruti launched the Dzire Facelift in the Indian Market. Now it is all set to offer the facelifted version of the Swift hatchback. Expected to be launched in mid of 2020, the new Maruti Swift Facelift is likely to share the design cues and mechanical changes with that of Maruti Dzire Facelift.

Maruti discontinues its diesel variant and equips the 2020 Maruti Suzuki Swift Facelift with a more powerful 1.2-liter DualJet petrol engine, which also powers the Maruti Dzire Facelift and Maruti Baleno. This engine will deliver a maximum power output of 90 bhp and 113 Nm peak torque. When compared to the current 1.2-litre petrol engine, this new DualJet engine produces 7 bhp more power.

Compared to Maruti Suzuki Dzire Facelift, 2020 Maruti Swift Facelift is expected to offer a marginally better fuel efficiency. Maruti Dzire Facelift delivers an ARAI certified mileage figure of 23.26 kmpl in the manual and 24.14 kmpl in AMT.  

Cosmetic update for the 2020 Swift Facelift will likely be focused on the front-end. It will feature a new bumper, newly-styled fog lamps, and a grille similar to the Dzire facelift up-front. While the side profile will cater to newly designed alloy wheels and the rear end will stand to provide a reworked bumper. 

In terms of interior features, 2020 Maruti Swift Facelift will get a multi-color 4.2-inch multi-information display for its instrument cluster. It will also boast of an updated version of the 7-inch SmartPlay studio touchscreen infotainment system. Other highlighted features include cruise control, auto-folding outside rear view mirrors, cloud-based services for audio entertainment and display vehicle alerts.

As for safety features, Maruti is expected to make some new addition to the 2020 Swift facelift. The AMT variants of the new Swift will get Electronic Stability Control and Hill Hold Assist along with other standard features. Other safety equipment list on-board the hatchback would include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
