It is big news for the homegrown automaker – Maruti Suzuki as the company has achieved a new sales milestone for its Super Carry Mini Truck. The company has sold more than 50,000 units of the mini-truck in just 3 years!

The mini-truck was first launched in the year 2016 in just 3 cities. The super carry mini-truck is a sub-one-ton light commercial vehicle (LCV) that is available in petrol, diesel and CNG variations. The CNG variant was launched a year after the first variant was rolled out while the cab chassis came out in February 2018. But the company has decided to discontinue the diesel variant owning to the implementation of the latest BSVI emission norms. In the month of March 2018, the Super Carry crossed the 10K sales milestone while the next 10,000 units came in next 6 months.

The company’s Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Shashank Srivastava, said, "We thank our customers for their trust and support. Within a short span of three years, Super Carry has created a niche for itself. Developed specifically for India, keeping in mind the unique requirements of the Indian mini truck customer, Super Carry has won the widespread appreciation of customers. Super Carry owners vouch for its qualities like best-in-segment power, mileage, easy maintenance, comfort and enhanced storage capacity, which helps enhance their profitability. The second best-selling Mini-Truck in the Light Commercial Vehicle Market, Super carry has been able to create a brand name for itself."

The Maruti Suzuki Super Carry petrol variant is powered by a 1.2-liter engine that puts out 72.4 bhp of power and 101 Nm of peak torque.

The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. While the CNG variant gets the same petrol motor, the diesel variant has a 793 cc, twin-cylinder diesel engine that produces 32 bhp of power and 75 Nm of torque. The diesel variant too is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
