BS6 Renault KWID & Renault Triber Launched in India

  • BS6 Renault KWID & Renault Triber Launched in India

Updating their product portfolio, Renault have announced the introduction of BS6 versions of KWID and Triber in India. This is a result of soon to be implemented stricter emission norms and according to the French automaker, Renault KWID and Renault Triber are its two models to make the first switch to BS6. Prices for Renault KWID BS-6 start from Rs 2.92 lakhs going all the way up to Rs 5.01 lakhs (ex-showroom) Delhi while the Renault Triber BS6 is priced between Rs 4.99 lakhs – 6.78 lakhs (ex-showroom) Delhi. For a price comparison between BS4 and BS6 models, there has been an increase of Rs 9,000 in the case of Renault KWID across all variants. With the Renault Triber, the price increase is between Rs 4,000 to Rs 15,000 depending upon the variant selected.

BS6 Renault Triber in India

Renault KWID that was updated last year with fresher looks features a 0.8 litre and a 1.0 litre petrol engine under the hood that are now BS6 complaint. With the power outputs remaining the same for both variants as before, Renault KWID’s 0.8 litre 3-cylinder petrol engine produces 53.3 Bhp and 72 Nm torque. The more powerful Renault KWID 1.0 litre 3-cylinder petrol unit pumps out 67 Bhp with 91 Nm of peak torque. These units come matted to 5-speed manual transmission alongside an AMT.  

Talking about Renault Triber, it is the most recent product to be introduced by the French manufacturer. Selling alongside Renault Lodgy in the company’s product portfolio, Renault Triber is the most recent MPV to be launched by the French automaker. Mechanically Renault Triber remains the same as before, the only thing that has changed is that now it comes with a BS6 complaint powertrain. Renault Triber therefore features 1.0 litre 3-cylinder petrol engine which has a power output of 71 bhp with 96 Nm of peak torque. Currently the Triber is only being offered with a manual transmission.

According to the company, its SUV range comprising of Renault Duster and Renault Captur would also be updated with BS6 complaint engines in coming days before the deadline for emission norms implementation.
