Honda 2Wheelers is planning to launch the 2021 CBR650R in March in the country. The bike will come with a few noticeable upgrades. As for the price, we can expect the 2021 version of the CBR650R to get a significant hike over its predecessor. Currently, the sport tourer is retailed at Rs 7.70 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete against the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Triumph Street Triple R.

Design-wise, the 2021 CBR650R gets a sporty look. It will cater to a revised twin-pod LED headlamp, a muscular fuel tank, a stepped-up seat, a raised windscreen, alloy wheels, and a new steel mudguard. Feature highlights include an under-seat USB Type-C charging port and a digital instrument console. The Japanese 2Wheeler giant is also offering a range of accessories with the new Honda CBR650R. These include front mudguard panels, side covers, tank and seat bag, heated grips, tall screen (clear and smoked), wheel strips, and a quick shifter. Talking about the colour options, the motorcycle will be offered in Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic and Candy Chromosphere Red.

Performance-wise, the upcoming CBR650R will draw its power from a 649cc, in-line 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that churns out a maximum power of 93.7 bhp @12000 rpm and a peak torque of 60.1 Nm @8000 rpm. The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Furthermore, the engine comes with a remapped ECU (engine control unit) along with the revised intake timing, catalyzer & silencer, and an exhaust pipe. As for the brakes, the two-wheeler gets dual discs upfront and a single rotor at the rear axles coupled with dual-channel ABS and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). Suspension duties are taken care of by 41mm Showa Separate Function Big Piston (SFF BP) forks at the front and a 7-step mono-shock unit with adjustable preload towards the rear.
